Dear Tyler,

Hi my sweet son! How are you doing on this Monday afternoon? Mom is so sorry that I didn’t write to you yesterday like I said that I would but it was a very scary day. Let me start with Saturday.... Everyone was up and ready to go on our day trip by 9 am. We got to our destination around 11am. Our day there was good. We did some shopping, gambling and we ate at the Hard Rock Cafe. That was fun. We left there around 4:30 pm and was home by 6 pm. When we got home, we took care of the pups, got ourselves something to eat and then decided to play poker. It was an early night for all of us though as we were all tired. Mom was in bed at 9 pm. Mom really didn’t get a lot of sleep that night but Sunday morning was nothing that I was expecting. Mom was up at 7 am and in the bathroom ready to hop in the shower when Mark came in and said he was in a lot of pain. He asked me to put some muscle rub on his back, neck and shoulders. After that he asked to have a baby aspirin. I went out and asked Meme how many he could have...they asked what was going on and I said I wasn’t sure but I think we had a situation. I went back to the bathroom and found Mark holding himself up and his arms and hands were blue and purple. I started to talk to him but he was disoriented and not making sense. Everything from there went so fast. Mark started to pass out and I hollared for help. Everyone came running and Mark went down again. This time hard. Bob yelled call 911 so Mom grabbed the phone and called. As I was talking to the dispatch, Meme, Bob, and Debbie helped to get Mark to the bed to lay down. He was in so much pain, couldn’t see and was not making since. Ambulance got here in less than 5 minutes. There were fire, police as well. Roughly 10 people were surrounding Mark. We got Grandpa up and grabbed the pups. They worked on Mark for a bit and then wheeled him out to the ambulance. Mom got things set here and then we all headed to the hospital where Mark was taken. Everyone was pretty shook up but Mom was trying to keep her cool and stay calm. We arrived at the hospital around 10 am. Mark was in a room already. He looked tired and pale and was in so much pain. He was in and out with sleeping. He was hooked up to the monitors. Vitals looked good. The nurse gave him Valium for pain. Mom thought all signs were pointing to a heart attack but that got ruled out. The next was a stroke. They took him for a CT Scan. He was gone for about an hour. Doctors did not have any idea to what was going on. They said that they thought about admitting him but decided at the last minute to not do that. They decided to discharge Mark around 4 pm. Mom brought Mark, Grandpa and Bob home and then had to go back to get Meme because the vehicle was not big enough for us all. We all got back and everyone needed to pack their things up to head home. They left, Mom got Mark situated and then I started to clean, do laundry, and get things back to normal. It took Mom until 6 pm to do all of it. After that, I got dinner for Mark and we had a bunch of calls to make. His friend, Rick stopped by to check on him. He left around 9 pm. We went to bed around 9:30 pm. Mom didn’t sleep all that well again. I was up about 9 times during the night to help Mark and to clean up the mess from the pups as they are sick as well. This morning I was up at 7 am. I feed the pups and made coffee while Mark was resting. I took a shower, got ready and then headed out to get Mark’s prescriptions. Now we are resting in bed. Mark is sitting up, watching TV while I write to you. The rest of the day will be doing the same and same for tonight and the next few days.
Nobody knows what is going on with Mark. He has a follow up appointment on Wednesday to be re-evaluated. What I can tell you is that he is not able to move and walk on his own, he can only use his left area and hand, not his right one. He is in a lot of pain still. They have him on patches 12 hours on/12 hours off and again, muscle relaxers 3x’s a day. He can’t work until healed. Mom is seeing some improvement but also I am concerned about many things. It still all leads to a stroke. The symptoms are all there. We will know more on Wednesday. For now, Mom is right by his side through it all. I am there to do what he needs. I sleep when he is resting and awake when he is awake. I am exhausted but not saying anything. We have a ways to go before he gets back to the way he was a couple of days ago but we will get there. We are staying positive. We got this.
Everyone on both sides of our families has been so supportive and checking in regularly. We are so blessed and grateful for that. Please watch over us both as we need all that we can get. Mom will be able to write to you when Mark is settled and resting. Any other time Mom has to basically help him with everything... bathing, dressing, walking, bathroom times, etc.... I am staying busy that is for sure. School is on hold until he is feeling better. Mom will keep you updated as I know of things. I am going to go lay down for a bit though as my eyes are heavy. I am tired.
Remember that Mom loves you to the moon and back and all the way around the world. You are my hero and the wind beneath my wings. Forever you will live inside my heart, mind, body and soul. I will be back tomorrow with another letter to you. Have fun tonight while Mom sleeps. Come visit me in my dreams tonight if you can. Thank you. I will whisper to you later tonight so smile when you hear me and I will smile back to you. Until tomorrow comes...... good night and sweet dreams my sweet precious son. I miss you so much. More than words.
 Always, Mommy xoxoxo. Muah 🖤
