Good morning my sweet precious son! How are you doing today on this very sunny Saturday? Mom has been up since 6:30 am & I was ready to rock & roll. Everything was done before 10 am... up, ready, long walk with the pups & now I am writing to you! I wanted to do this right now because Mark & I have a busy day ahead of us with going to the movies & then after going shopping for a few things & then grocery shopping. By the time we get back & put everything away it will be time for Mom to make dinner & then do dishes & I will be plumb tuckered out. This way I can write to you instead of waiting & perhaps not doing one at all.
Today is May 5th which is also known as Cinco De Mayo! Lots of festivities going on around the world today. Mom told Mark that we will celebrate it with having your favorite meal....Tacos! I remember how much you used to love them. we would have them so many different ways. every time I make them I think of you my sweet precious son. Mom wants to get everything done today because tomorrow it is going to rain & be cold & that is a day that I do not want to be out in. Mark is looking forward to the movie & I know you would love it. It is your kind to watch. Mom is basically going because it is something Mark wants to do. He does things like that for Mom so I feel it is only fair! We don't go to the movies very often at all...maybe 3 times a year but when we do it is in this theater that is so cool. It is lux seating & that means only 21+ can sit in there. The seats fully recline & you have a waiter that serves you anything that you want. You can also have alcohol. It is super cool & only about 500 more to seat in there than the regular seats. Well worth it! Mom kicks back in the recliners & eats popcorn & watches the movie...lol! I get completely relaxed for sure. We are waiting for his friend, Rick to show up.... he should be here any minute. Speak of the devil.... he just called Mark & he is here...lol. That means that Mom has a few more minutes before we have to leave because the theater is about 20 minutes away & longer with traffic.
Last night was a pretty laid back evening for us here. Mark actually fell asleep at 9:30 pm & Mom went to bed about an hour later. He was just so tired from the long hours that he had all week. Meme called & we chatted for a few minutes but that was it. I will be in touch with everyone else later tonight or tomorrow. Aunt Beck messaged me this morning. She was able to meet up with our cousin in Rome today. she sent me some pictures. Today is her last day there. She has just a few more hours before it is night time there & they go to sleep. Tomorrow morning they will be headed to the airport & home by 2:30 pm our time. I wished them safe travels & told her I can't wait to speak to her on the phone when she is settled at home. I know you will be with them while they fly back home. I know you are with us all...all the time. Thank you pumpkin! Mom will update you more on things as soon as I get them.
I hope that later this evening after the sun goes down & it is time for Mom to go to bed.... you either visit me or sit with me during the night. I hope that your night is everything that you need & want it to be. May you get to do all the things that are needed of you & things you may want to do. I will whisper to you later as well. I will light a candle too. Smile when you hear Mom & I will smile back to you. Mom misses you so much & loves you to the moon & back & all the way around the world. You are my hero & the wind beneath my wings. Forever you are in my heart, mind, body & soul. I will be back tomorrow with another letter to you. Until then.... good night & sweet dreams my bright shining star.
Always, Mommy xoxoxo. Muah!
Here is the prayer for the day:
I am unworthy of all the kindness and faithfulness you have shown your servant. I had only my staff when I crossed this Jordan, but now I have become two camps. Genesis 32:10, NIV
Lord our God, we are not worthy of all the mercy and faithfulness you show to us. We thank you for your love and ask you to keep our hearts united in the hope we have together for all things. Keep our hearts united, that again and again we can receive something new from your mighty hand. Keep us true to the calling you have given us. Let light shine out into the world, right into the dark places. Remember those all over the world who are sighing to you, longing that in your great and wonderful goodness light may come to the peoples and to the nations through some deed from your hand. Amen.
