Dear Tyler,
Hi pumpkin! How are you doing on this Saturday afternoon? Mom looked right at the time again it it said 12:12 pm. I whispered to you, did you hear me? Thanks for the sign letting Mom know that you are near me. Mom is sorry that I didn't write a letter yesterday but the last couple days have been quite rough for me. Thursday we had Blizzard Grayson visit us & many others throughout the East Coast. That was a really nasty storm for sure. We got dumped with 14" of snow & the temps were 32 but the wind was over 50 mph. During the afternoon, Mom started to not feel so well. I didn't want to eat dinner & my stomach hurt. By 7 pm I laid in bed & thought that I was going to be sick. I had stomach cramps & pain for most of the night. I slept off & on. The wind continued to howl through the night, Mark said but I never heard it at all. That is how out of it I was. Yesterday, I woke up & still didn't feel all that well. I laid in bed for most of the morning & then ventures out to the living room. Mom was watching TV & I fell asleep. Guess I needed the rest. I had a little dinner but not much at all. I slept off & on again last night. Lots of strange dreams. Woke up this morning feeling a little better but still have stomach pain. Guess it is something that is going around. Meme has had it for 3 days she was saying. This will be Mom's 2nd day. Hope to be feeling better very soon. I never got on my computer once at all in the last day & a half. Thank you for watching over us through that storm. we are very blessed that we never lost power as many around us did.
This morning Mom got up & fed the pups & got coffee going for Mark as he slept in. He said he was really tired. That is not really like him so I let him sleep as long as he wanted to. Mom made cinnamon rolls for breakfast. I got all the garbage together, Mark got up & showered, did the dishes & heard something dripping. Something was wrong with our water heater. Mom had to call the emergency maintenance guys to have them come look at whatever was going on. They got here & fixed it within 30 minutes. Guess it was a good call on Mom's part as if we just ignored it then we would have had a burst in the water heater & the people downstairs would have been flooded out as well as us. Mom got ready after that. Mark went downstairs & shoveled out the snow from the garage while Mom dusted, did 2 loads of laundry, & vacuumed. Now he is taking a much needed break. we had some lunch & he is playing a game with his brother online while I am writing to you. After that, Mark is going to be taking my computer & fixing it. something is going on with it & hopefully after installing windows 10 on here & getting rid of windows 8 my computer won't be lagging anymore. Mark said it will take all day & most of tomorrow to fix it. Good weekend to do it as we are going no where due to the brutal cold temps outside. Tonight it will be close to -22 degrees. The weather is calling us " Frozen America. " It is 14 consecutive days in this kind of weather. Guess it is a record indeed. This week I guess it is suppose to warm up a bit. we shall see as we have 2 more snow storms lurking around us as well. It has been a crazy winter so far & it has only just begun! Mom will write to you later tomorrow night when Mark is done with my computer!
It has been pretty quiet around here the last couple of days but I have managed to chat with Aunt Beck. She checked in on us Thursday night to make sure we were okay. Poor Bean had to drive home in the storm. Almost 3 hours to get home for her but she made it safely.... Thank God & you for watching over her! Meme & Bob went to DHMC for his check up. Things were well there. They are having even colder temps then what we are. Told them to stay inside & keep warm. Grandpa called last night. He is so sick again. He was losing his voice as he was talking to Mom. Him & Debbie both caught that nasty cold again. Debbie was saying she went to work but couldn't stay all night as she felt like crap. Grandpa worked the day of the storm. He was saying that he was constantly getting the cold air on him when the doors were opening & his hands were blue. That is not good. I told him that when the weather is that cold he needs to stay home & just stay warm & not be working like that. I am worried about him. Debbie told Mom this morning that Grandpa had a very rough night last night & he was still sleeping at noon. He needs his rest. I hope they are both feeling better soon! Please watch over us all, Tyler. Thank you so much my sweet precious son! One of Meme's & Mom's friend passed away the other day. Meme called me last night. He was a nice man who will be missed by many. May " Cricket " ( Wilbur ) R.I.P. for eternal life now. Mom's other friend's brother is doing better. He went to DHMC & had some tests run. They found what was going on & they are releasing him today I believe. That is good news! That is all the updates that I have for you today but will have more tomorrow I am sure. We skype with Tubal & Karen tomorrow night so we will see how her Mom is doing. My fingers are crossed for her! Mom will let you know as I know.
Here is a saying for the day:
" You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think & loved more than you will ever know! "
Mom hopes that your evening tonight will be filled with everything you need & want it to be. Have fun while Mom sleeps & come visit me if you can. Our night here will be cuddling in a blanket & watching a couple movies while staying warm. The night sky will be upon us in about 3 hours. Daylight is very few these past few weeks. Another couple months & we will be turning the clocks ahead again! That is crazy to think about that already. Mom will whisper to you as I always do so be listening out for my voice. Smile for Mom when you hear me & I will smile back to you! Mom misses you so much & loves you to the moon & back & all the way around the world. Forever you will live inside my heart, mind, body & soul. Always, you will be the wind beneath my wings & my hero.
Before I close I will write the daily prayers for you so here they are:
When you come to the edges of yourself and you see the limits of your love, your generosity, and your willingness to give of yourself...instead of despair, just whisper a prayer to the God who loves you. He'll do in you what you cannot do for yourself. He never rolls His eyes or breathes a heavy sigh when He looks at you. He loves you. May you--right in the midst of your limits--look to Jesus who intends to finish what He started in you. May you focus more on His goodness than you do on your 'badness' because He's better than you know and loves you more than you can comprehend. Walk freely tonight, knowing you (like the rest of us) are a work in progress. And you get to be. Without the condemnation.
When life knocks you down, may you get back up again because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world! When your rogue emotions turn you upside down, may you find your footing again by standing on the truth of who you are in Christ Jesus. When your perspective dims because the clouds block the sun, may God Himself break-through with a fresh perspective on His promises. Even here, right in this place, you are loved, called, cared for, and appointed to be a blessing to a world very much in need. May the changeable things in your life take a back seat to the unchangeable, never-ending love and faithfulness of God. You're blessed and God has given you a sturdy place to stand. Have a great weekend!
Mom will be back tomorrow night with another letter to you my bright shining star! Good night & sweet dreams.
Always, Mommy xoxoxo. Muah!
