Dear Tyler,
Hi pumpkin! How are you doing on this Tuesday afternoon? Mom & Mark are doing okay right now. Every hour the weather is picking up, raining harder & the wind is getting stronger. It is so foggy here as well. You can't see a thing. It is cool to look at but kind of creepy. Mom wanted to write to you now while I had the chance. I will be making an early dinner tonight as well too just to be on the safe side. Mom really is not doing anything at all these next 2 days because of the weather. Mark is working from home today so that is good & he might be able to tomorrow too but not sure on that one. Not much of anything is going on here at all. The complex that we live in is so quiet...really quiet. Lots of people have stayed home as well. When I look out to the buildings from the balcony I can see that their outside lights are on or lights in their apartment are on. It is pretty dark here. Mom is hoping & praying that all will be well here where we live but Mom is praying that the weather is not too bad for the coast. After Hurricane Irma hit the Caribbean, USVI, Puerto Rico, & Florida it did so much damage everywhere. It is heart wrenching. Can't forget Hurricane Harvey that hit Houston, Texas & all that damage there as well.... We have Hurricane Jose which we are dealing with & on the weather channel there is another one coming. This one is called Hurricane Maria. This is a Category 5 ( which is the top of the scale.... usually winds are 180 mph ) & looks to be headed back in the same path & direction as Irma did. It is hitting the Caribbean, Puerto Rico, USVI & Florida again. This Hurricane season is crazy. There has not been such damaging hurricanes in over 21 years & look at all that is going on now. Mom is praying for the safety of all people, places & animals. I really hope this one will not hit land & will hopefully go out to sea. None of those places need any more damage done. Mom is thinking about everyone & keeping them close to her heart. I will keep you posted to what is going on with this crazy weather everyone is getting in the days to come.
Last night, Mom spoke to Meme, Bob & Grandpa. They all called to wish Mark a Happy Birthday. He also got several other calls from family & friends & messages on facebook. He was surprised & very thankful. He is still feeling kind of crappy today. I guess Meme was feeling the same way yesterday too. Guess it is something that is going around. Mom is feeling good for the most part. I have a bit of a headache but that is from the weather we are getting. My shoulder is still bothering me but not half as bad as it was. It still hurts to do a lot of things but I just take my time & not rush things. I need it to get better & not worse. Everyone else seems to be doing alright. Think Grandpa is starting to get nervous as next weekend he will be getting married. They are 10 days out now! everything is all set & we are just waiting for the day to come. Mom is super excited to see everyone. We were planning on being there for 4 days but things had to change as Mark needs to be back on October 1st for a class. It is okay. Mom will see mostly everyone that she wants to for the days that we are there. I will be taking lots of pictures of our family. Think that is what I am excited about the most! You know Mom & her love of photography! Think that is all the updates I have for you today but here are a couple prayers:
May you take a new grip with your tired hands and mark out a straight path for your feet. God has given you promises to hang onto and enough light for the road in front of you. Someone once said, ‘The devil drives but the Shepherd leads.’ Tell your soul that the devil will not drive you off your promise, off your property, or off your sense of purpose. In fact, the Lord Himself fights for you! So take your stand, hold your ground, and refuse to be bullied by your fears. Jesus won the war so you can win this battle. You are mighty in God, my friend! Have a strong-hearted day!
If you’re in a season of hardship and life feels like an uphill climb, may you stay the course until Jesus tells you otherwise. May you determine NOT to make any rash decisions that you’ll later regret. May you instead, fix your eyes on Jesus and take your cues from Him. May you trust Jesus to carry your burden so you can hold fast to His promises. May you exhale frustration and inhale God’s peace and provision. This season will pass. And you’ll come through it with strength, clarity, and conviction. Don’t take the enemy’s bait. Follow the Savior’s lead. You’ll be glad you did. Blessings on your night tonight!
Here is a saying for the day as well: Watch your thoughts, for they become words. Watch your words, for they become actions. Watch your actions, for they become habits. Watch your habits, for they become character. Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.
That is one of Mom's favorite sayings! So true & definitely words to live by. Mom is going to get going for now my sweet precious son. I have a few things I would like to do before the daylight ( what little we have of it right now ) is gone. I am so happy that I was able to write to you today & I am hoping I can tomorrow as well. Mom is hoping that you have a very peaceful night doing whatever you need & want to do. Please be with us if you can & visit Mom in my dreams tonight while I sleep. Thank you. I will whisper to you later on this evening so smile when you hear Mom's voice & I will smile back just for you. I miss you like crazy & I love you to the moon & back & all the way around the world. You are my hero & the wind beneath my wings. You live forever inside my heart, mind, body & soul. I will be back tomorrow with another letter to you so until then... Good night & sweet dreams tonight. You are my shining star & I love you more than all the stars in the sky!
Always, Mommy xoxoxo. Muah!
