Dear Tyler,

Hi my sweet son! How are you doing on this Tuesday evening? Mom has had quite the day today. I will tell you all about it in a couple minutes. Today is Mark's Birthday! We both have been up since about 3:30 am with Ozzy. Again, last night he could not sleep, he couldn't get comfortable and kept jumping off the bed and then back on the bed a few minutes later. Poor little guy. He has had it rough the last few days. we are hoping for a full night sleep tonight as both of us could use it! Mark left at 8 am this morning. Mom was up, got coffee made, snacks out, etc... for him so he didn't have to do it. After he left, Mom stayed in bed for about an hour and then decided to get up and get ready so that I could go to the store to get Mark's cake and gift. It was raining pretty hard when I was ready to go but I looked out the window and said "oh its just rain...no biggie." Got in the vehicle, opened the garage door and noticed it was raining harder than what I thought but I said to myself that I would give it a try. I proceeded to go down our hill and the vehicle in front of me was going really slow. I couldn't see why because the wipers were on the fastest speed but then I did notice why. The roads were flooded out and Mom had to go all the way down the hill and around the round about to come back up the hill. It was the scariest thing ever. The water was above the tires and everyone was going super slow. Mom called Mark and he stayed on the phone with me until I got home. I was a wreck. I got inside and the pups were going crazy. Princess was panting and Ozzy was under the bed. It was then that I realized that it was lightning and thundering outside. Those storms went on for over 3 hours. The apartment was so dark and Mom could not study because the pups were so scared. I sat on the couch with them. We lost power once for about 10 minutes and then it came back on for about 90 minutes and then it was back out again. Mom opened the balcony door and played my game while sitting on the couch with the pups. The power stayed out a lot longer this time but came back on about 90 minutes later. The rain and storms have stopped now. The sun came out and Mark's drive home was good. Lots of traffic as usual but no heavy rain or anything. Mom got to make Mark a special Birthday dinner tonight and we just finished eating. I told him that we would celebrate his birthday tomorrow with cake and gifts as we couldn't today. He was so good about it. He said the only thing that mattered was that Mom made it home safely. That was so sweet. Now it is going on 6:30 pm....dinner and dishes are done for the night and Mom is going to relax for the rest of the evening and it will be a very very early night to go to bed. Grandpa called around 4:30 pm to tell me that everything went well with Debbie's surgery today. It was 3.5 hours long and was successful. She is in the hospital sleeping and eating and getting pain meds. Grandpa will go get her in the morning and Mom will call tomorrow to say hello. Meme called to see how she was doing and to tell me that Skittles hurt his back again. They were going to call the vets so we didn't talk long at all. They all wished Mark a Happy Birthday though despite all that they are going through which was so nice. That is what family is all about! Uncle Dick was doing better yesterday than today. He is still in the hospital and the doctors are looking at his heart along with low kidney function. Mom is praying for him. Please watch over us all my sweet precious son. We need your guidance and love. Tank you pumpkin! Mom will keep you posted as I know of updates but that is all that I have for tonight.
Mom hopes that your evening is filled with everything you need it to be and want it to be. Come visit me in my dreams if you can. I will whisper to you as I always do so be listening out for my voice. Smile for me and I will smile back. I miss you more than words can say. I love you to the moon and back and all the way around the world. You are my hero and the wind beneath my wings. Forever my bright shining star and living inside my heart, mind, body and soul. Mom will be back tomorrow with another letter to you so until then...good night and sweet dreams. Mom is going to relax after the day that I have had...lol! The candle is burning bright for you tonight too.
 Always, Mommy xoxoxo. Muah!

Here is the prayer for the day:

The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass. I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. Revelation 21:21–23, NIV
Lord our God, we thank you that you have given us your glorious future as the basis for our lives. We thank you that on this foundation we can forget our present troubles and believe that the power of good can move us today to oppose sin, death, and everything evil. Free our hearts from all burdens, and grant that we may have courage to wait patiently for the great help which is to come. Grant that what is happening in the world today may somehow help toward the solution of all the problems. We praise your name, our Father in the heavens. We praise you for the good you do for us each day and for the light you will shed one day on everything on earth, to the glory of your name. Amen.
